THE MOOR (Haworth, Yorkshire)

   With its dark and violent beauty in the Winter or its unbelievable violet bloom in the Spring,  the moor is an unforgettable sight.   It's not surprising that the deep love the Brontes felt for it was inspiration enough to make it the protagonist of almost all of their novels.

   Con la sua bellezza cupa e violenta in inverno o con la sua incredibile fioritura viola in primavera,  la brughiera (questa, per similitudine con alcuni paesaggi del nord ovest italiano, l'usuale traduzione del termine inglese) e' uno spettacolo indimenticabile.   Non sorprende affatto l'amore che le sorelle Bronte provavano per essa,  profondo fino al punto da renderla protagonista di quasi tutti i loro romanzi.
